Therapeutic Grade clove essential oil is distilled from the budof the plant (Syzygium aromaticum).  Inferior oils can be distilled from the stems and leaves.  The average nose  could not discern the difference between oils distilled from leaves and stems versus the clove bud.  The difference would be in the results the essential oil may or may not produce.  Therapeutic grade clove essential oil is one of the most anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-inflammatory oils.   Clove oil is also one of the most tested essential oils with consistent research showing it’s effectiveness in killing bacteria.  Young Living’s  has combined clove oil with other powerful anti-bacterial oils in the university tested  Thieves essential oil blend.  Therapeutic clove essential oil is anti-aging, anti-tumoral, anti-microbial, anti-fungal, anti-viral, analgesic, anti-coagulant, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-parasitic and anti-convulsant.  This is a POWERFUL essential oil!  It is also a HOT oil and should always be diluted.  Clove  oil  also found in Young Living’s PanAway and Melrose oil blends.
