Melaleuca alternifolia is also known as Tea Tree oil. It is from the Myrtaceae (myrtle) botanical family. The essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves. It is highly antimicrobial and antiseptic. It is anti-fungal, anti-viral, anti-parasitic and anti-inflammatory. It can be useful in treating fungal infections (candida & ringworm) and other skin issues (acne)
